Last weekend I got my craft on and pretended to be Martha Stewart for a while. Do you do that? I had a glass jar that I wanted to fill with soaps wrapped in pretty paper for the bathroom.
There are pretty soaps available in the shops but as I had a definite colour scheme of pale blue and taupe, I decided it would be easier to buy some paper and ribbons and wrap my own.
These are the papers I found from the scrapbooking shop at Photo Continental. Proper scrapbooking shops have a better collection of papers than general craft stores.
I just love the embossed birdcage paper above. I bought a box of 4 scented soaps in boxes from Target. I wrapped some soaps in their boxes and some without.
It is easy to wrap things with scrapbook paper as it is thick and you can create straight folds. I used double-sided tape to hold the paper in place. Now I just needed to work out which ribbons to put on which paper.
I ran the ribbons through my sticker machine so they were adhesive. You can read about my sticker machine here. Then it was easy to attach the ribbons to the soaps.
I already had the soap wrapped in white paper with baker’s twine (a gift from my mother) so I added it to the collection. I think they look very Martha worthy!
So here are my pretty soaps in the glass jar on a little pedestal table beside the bath. The pedestal table is a whole other story which I will share soon.
